Do Not Feed the Dogs or Pigs

Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
Matthew 7:6

Don't Feed The Animals

This has been an amazing journey!! While I wrote my book I was distracted daily with marketing strategies. God told me to write my memoir, but I often questioned, “How LORD? I’m nobody, I’ve never been popular and I keep my social circle close. I have about 400 friends on Facebook–on purpose. How am I going to get the message out?”
“Just write. Don’t look at another marketing strategy until you finish. I’ll take care of the rest,” HE said.

I finished my book and was contacted by the Dr. Oz show two days later, it had nothing to do with my book, but still…God was giving me a taste of what he was about to do. So far I’ve reached 58 countries with my website. I don’t know anyone in Cambodia but they know me, God is awesome!!

I’ve been getting interviews left and right. It’s overwhelming because I’m just a teacher from a small town. But, I’m not going to sell my God short. This is all His doing and I give Him all the glory. I’m quickly learning. As God is giving me the exposure, I’ve realized that not all publicity is good publicity.

As Christians, we pick a day where we outreach in the community. We go from house to house inviting people to church. I learned then, that not everyone will accept your invitation and some will even be disrespectful. In this day and age, there are many people who do not care one bit that you are a child of God.

I was invited for a live interview yesterday and the LORD said, “take a listen, before you go on.” I listened and I didn’t like it. It was not the place for a woman of God to share her story. I wanted to cancel, but then realized that it would be very unprofessional for me to cancel the show 15 minutes before my appearance. Then, I tried to justify being on the show anyway by saying, “well maybe they need this, someone to show them the light.” Not so. I casted my pearls before swine. And I have learned to never accept another invitation unless God gives me the “OK”. I will not speak at any church, retreat or conference unless God approves. The message He has given me is precious and holy: I will not give it to “dogs”.

God has already given me the tools I needed in the 8 years He trained me for this moment. His direction is clear: “Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.”
